Minnesota Twins fans have grumbled that Ben Revere just doesn't have the arm to play in center field. He's got the stuff to be a great defensive player... except he probably couldn't throw out a guy at home.
Ron Gardenhire acknowledges this. However, he said his arm is good enough for right field. Right field at Target Field is the shortest place to throw the ball home.
Gardenhire revealed that Josh Willingham will play left field will Revere will likely be in right.

The Minnesota Twins Say They'll Rally Come 2012
The Minnesota Twins sent out an email to season ticket holders this past weekend.
The email summarized what every Twins fan agonized through this past season; the email summarized everything that we already knew. The Twins were terrible this year and could claim few positive events: Liriano's no-no, Revere's 'web gem' of a catch as highlighted by ESPN, Thome's 600 HR, Blyleven's HOF recognition and Nathan's 255th record save. Yes, all were incredible, but we would be lying to ourselves if we said it wasn't easier to focus on the 99 losses.
To be frank, the email upset me in a pissed-off kind of way. It was too soon. I'm still too mad and too disappointed. Some would say I'm overly competitive and some would say I need to learn to let go. I'm not saying those people are right because I consider my competitiveness and keen memory to be assets, but perhaps I should be focusing on next year.
Unfortunately, the injuries were too much and the losses too heartbreaking. I was disappointed beyond words, making this post tough to formulate. Our sights were high heading in and so blocked by the end, it seemed as though the whole organization was drowning.
Twins fans deserve better. We deserve the commitment during the offseason in order to prevent injuries. We deserve honesty from players about their conditions. We deserve more than disappointment. We deserve Division Champs.
The Twins will rally? They damn well better.

The Minnesota Twins and Their Triple-A Staff
The Minnesota Twins have been winning. Without Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Francisco Liriano, Jason Kubel, Joe Nathan and Denard Span. We have been winning. What happens when those regular-start players return? We weren't winning with them before and now that we are, they just get to come back? What about the impact that players like Ben Revere have had? Rene Rivera has been calling more than a decent game, right?
I understand what it means to be loyal to your core of veteran and talented players, but when does the time come to give credit where credit is due?
Ben Revere, while he has a poor throwing arm, has speed that becomes very useful when the offense isn't pulling their weight. Revere's speed has been illustrated in the highlight reels of late, showing his amazing catches in center field. We need to get back to the days of small-ball and base stealing seems to be natural for the speedy Revere. Revere throws Minnesota back to the days of the "Piranhas" as dubbed by Ozzie Guillen referring to the bottom hitters of the Twins lineup a few years back. Revere could help us with that.
Rene Rivera has been calling a great game behind the plate. The pitchers have even spoke out. Rivera has called Nick Blackburn's last four starts, including one that was a complete game for Blackburn. Blackburn was interviewed after that game and couldn't stop talking about how great Rivera is doing and how well they work together. Besides, with a name like Rivera in the game, that team is bound to win, right? See Mariano Rivera.
Joe Mauer and other players are expected to return soon. Should we welcome them on the field and just forget what players like Revere and Rivera have done for the Twins as of late? No, we shouldn't, but what can we do?
We should keep Revere and Rivera on and remember them and continue to use them as key contributors. They've captured the hearts of many fans and will, hopefully continue to do so in Twins uniforms.
