College Basketball Score Updates

It was another great weekend to be a college basketball fan. If you missed the games or sports center highlights, here are my most noteworthy college basketball games and scores from Saturday:

Texas Aggies 78 (17-6, 6-3 Big 12)
Aggies kept Baylor at bay and remain a strong Big 12 contender...well second to Kansas anyway.

Illinois upsets Michigan State Spartans, but really Illinois is HOT right now and at home, it was less of an upset than sports writers claim.

Hot Big Ten Game Alert: Michigan State Spartans at Wisconsin Badgers

This weeks hot Big Ten game alert is tomorrow nights match-up of the Michigan State Spartans at Wisconsin Badgers. Kohl Center is going to be rocking and rolling! I wish I could travel over to Madison tomorrow night, but I will have to settle for some ESPN action. Michigan vs Michigan State Basketball Game Awesome

If you missed the Michigan State Spartans basketball team playing at Ann Arbor last night, you missed an awesome college basketball game. Michigan vs Michigan State is always interesting due to the in-state rivalry, but last night the intensity was insane. Spartan Kalin Lucas made the go ahead basket with 3.5 seconds left, giving No. 5 Michigan State a 57-56 win over Michigan.

The Michigan Wolverines used their home court advantage to keep the game close and were even in the lead for most of the game. I watched most of it from my sofa (thank you ESPN). The Wolverines fans were awesome. The first six rows or so in the lower deck were ALL decked out in yellow shirts – the visual impact was really cool and the fans were totally into it. It was college basketball at its best.

With the win, Michigan State Spartans basketball team improved to 8-0 in conference play for the first time in school history. If they weren’t in the Big 10 with my beloved Golden Gophers, I could be a real fan (and not just a close Michigan State fan).

Big Ten Network Game Alert: Iowa at Michigan State

Since I was born and raised in the Big Ten, I follow those teams the closest. I am thrilled that Comcast resolved its differences with the Big Ten Network so I can watch games I really care about on a regular basis. Last night was Iowa Hawkeyes at Michigan State that started right after dinner.

Ticket King had $5 tickets for the game – yes, 5 DOLLARS. If I lived in East Lansing, Michigan I would have scooped up the seats in a second. Is ticket scalping legal in Michigan? Even if it isn’t, you could buy the tickets for $5 and sell them at face value and make money. If I was a Michigan ticket scalper, I would have scooped up the $5 tickets and sold them on the street for a definite profit. Michigan State basketball fans are loyal and why wouldn’t they be? The Michigan State basketball team is AMAZING even if they did almost let Iowa back in the game.

No. 6 Michigan State remains unbeaten in the Big Ten beating Iowa 70-63 victory. I sure hope my Golden Gophers basketball team can knock them off of their pedastal!
