I'm Off To Another Adventure!
Hello, avid readers! As you could have guessed, I'm off to another adventure this upcoming Spring Break! I'll be going to the Bitterroot Valley area in Montana to help at a Catholic Worker farm. We still don't have much information about the things we'll be doing there, however, we'll be stopping at Yellowstone on the way there so I'm content. Wish me luck and I'll see you in a week!

Fun Facts About My Spring Break
I took all this information from the St. Thomas website, but here is some information about my Spring Break trip if anyone is curious! Read on:
Host Community:
The Bitterroot Catholic Worker is a 4 acre farm/orchard in Southwestern Montana - south of Missoula (location of the University of Montana) and the beautiful Bitterroot valley. They are an intentional community practicing simple, sustainable community living and exploring renewable energy and recycling. The community offers individual retreat space and manages an orchard and an expanding garden to produce food for the Catholic worker community and the excess to a homeless shelter in Missoula. Community members also work with fragile children for the church's Newman Center and at the homeless shelter. The VISION team will learn about the Catholic Worker movement and get their hands dirty working on the farm.
Justice Issues:
The Catholic Worker movement was founded in 1933 during the Great Depression by Dorothy Day at the urging of Peter Maurin. It is best known for houses of hospitality located in run-down sections of many cities, though a number of Catholic Worker centers exist in rural areas. "Our rule is the works of mercy," said Dorothy Day. "It is the way of sacrifice, worship, a sense of reverence."
Beyond hospitality, Catholic Worker communities are known for activity in support of labor unions, human rights, cooperatives, and the development of a nonviolent culture. Those active in the Catholic Worker are often pacifists people seeking to live an unarmed, nonviolent life. During periods of military conscription, Catholic Workers have been conscientious objectors to military service. Many of those active in the Catholic Worker movement have been jailed for acts of protest against racism, unfair labor practices, social injustice and war.

I'm Baaaaaack!
Hey readers! I'm back from Italy and better than ever before! I had the BEST experience during my month abroad and I can't wait to tell you all about it. I spent a lot of time working on an article for St. Thomas's online newspaper, TommieMedia, so if you want to hear all about my trip, check it out here!

Beyonce's New Album
If you check Twitter multiple times a day, like me, you would have seen that Beyonce released a new album last night! The internet basically exploded. Beyonce's fifth effort features 14 songs and 17 videos. Jay Z, Drake and Frank Ocean make guest appearances on the album, while the closing track, "Blue," features her daughter Blue Ivy. Yeah, same.
Seriously I was about to go to bed but then I saw on Twitter that Beyonce had released a new album on iTunes so of course I went to listen to it and it was everything I could ever expect.
If you are a Beyonce fan, you should go listen to her new album on iTunes RIGHT NOW!

Ticket King Minneapolis
Today I am doing some Ticket King work from Minneapolis! This office is designed/set up differently than the one in Minneapolis and I have to say I like it. The Minneapolis office is set up in a family style atmosphere with a modern vibe. The place is outfitted with Ikea-type furniture and fixtures. Love it!
A funny story... this morning when I was walking from the parking ramp to Ticket King, I had an encounter with a strange creature. A man donning a dress and flats (which were actually semi-cute) walked by me, carrying two very large garbage bags filled with aluminum cans. As he passed by me, he turned and asked, "Is today Saturday or Sunday? Amid all the excitement of last night, I lost track."
Umm... ok. Clearly he had to say something to me because I was avoiding eye contact at all cost, but really? You knew what day it is. You knew when you rolled out of your leather upholstered bed with a flower down comforter that you were going to pull on that dress no matter how much your biceps protested and that it was Saturday.
Now in St. Paul, a much more family-oriented and old-style city, I can't say that would have happened, especially since my walk to the office is about 20 paces.
Minneapolis is great, but so is St. Paul!

U2 Concert Tickets and Parking Passes!
Ticket King is lucky enough to have U2 concert tickets and U2 parking passes available for purchase. The U2 concert is at TCF Bank on Saturday, 23rd!
You all know what a parking nightmare the University of Minnesota campus is... make it easy on yourself and, when buying U2 concert tickets, throw in that parking pass!
I'll be doing ticket pick-ups in Minneapolis on Saturday for the Twins game and the U2 concert! I'll see you there!

With the spring semester finally over, you readers are in luck!
I have been fortunate enough to pick up more hours at Ticket King, which can only mean one thing: more money! And, of course, more blog posts by me.
I can't wait! This blog is one of my favorite parts of the job and I look forward to writing in it multiple times a week. With that being said, I would appreciate any comments relating to what YOU want to read about. I'm pretty flexible (a.k.a have an opinion for everything), so just leave a comment or email me: TicketKingCollege@yahoo.com.
I would love to hear what you have to say. We will talk soon!

Ticket King has your Spring Tickets!
I know spring fever has set in on my life, and I'm sure it has on yours as well. Recently I have purchased tickets to 6 Twins games and 1 Chelsea Handler tour stop because... well spring/summer is the time to get out of the house and to the ball park or out for drinks before a good show. If you are still in need of purchasing your tickets to anything from the Minnesota Twins to concerts or shows, you should really check out what Ticket King has to offer.
Seriously, we have tickets to EVERY Twins game. Nothing is sold out yet - there is NO excuse not to go see gorgeous Target Field. With tickets to every game, you have your choice of opponents, price ranges, and dates.
Not to mention, we have those interactive seat maps where you can see exactly where your seats will be. I've been to two Twins games so far this year, and take it from me... win or lose, the games are TOO much fun.
Don't miss your chance to have a beer or two at Target Field this year.

Counterfeit Tickets Not Available from Ticket King
Recently, several individuals have attempted to take advantage of loyal Minnesota Wild fans by selling them counterfeit tickets to the games they love the most. While this is obviously upsetting to fans, it is also highly disturbing to ticket brokers like Ticket King, who stand for the best customer service possible.

We at Ticket King want to make sure all of our customers know that we routinely check where our tickets are coming from - you should feel safe buying from Ticket King because you are safe! You are safe buying from reputable companies like Ticket King because we buy all our tickets from season ticket holders and always verify our ticket sources.
If you have any questions regarding the recent events, please feel free to contact me through comments or my email. As always, thank you for your continued business!

Ticket King had Successful Toys for Tots Campaign
Ticket King would like to thank all the Toys for Tots supporters. We had many donated gifts; the whole campaign was a huge success. There is absolutely no way we could have brightened so many lives this holiday season without your generous donations.

The Toys for Tots organization is a noble one and appreciates the outpouring of support from year to year. If you couldn't donate a gift this year, we understand times are tough, but keep Toys for Tots in your mind for next year -- the need is always there.
May you have a happy holiday season from Ticket King!

Ticket King: Toys for Tots and Holiday Gifts
The Holiday Season is the time of year were giving is the thing to do. Show someone you care this Holiday Season by donating a new, unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots. Ticket King, in Minneapolis and St. Paul, is an official drop-off location for Toys for Tots. If you drop off a toy, you will get a free Vikings Helga Hat!!

In other Ticket King news, tickets make great Holiday Gifts! Not sure what to get the person that has everything? Call Ticket King (612-341-4131) and purchase a gift certificate that can be used on any event and never expires! Sounds like a great deal to me!
However, my suggestion would be to give some Gopher Basketball tickets. The Gopher Men's BBall team is doing very well this season and are currently ranked No. 22! We have tickets for all your Gopher Basketball needs. Call, shop online, or stop on in to check out our Gopher Ticket inventory.
Happy Holidays for me and everyone at Ticket King!

Ticket King is an Official Drop Site for Toys for Tots
I am a junior in college and, yet, I cannot wait for Christmas! A break from school, time spent with family, and of course gifts. As long as I can remember, I have had faboulous Christmases. We always spend our Christmas morning at my Mom's house where it is just Me, my Mom, and my Sister. Then, we trek through the snow over to my Grandpa's house where we share the day with the entire family. Never have I had a Christmas where I was disappointed. However fortunate I have been, there are people who are extremely unfortunate through no fault of their own. This Christmas, keep those people in mind. Purchase a gift and donate it to Toys for Tots. Ticket King is an official drop off location for your unwrapped toys this holiday season. Make someone else's Christmas this year; give a gift.

Discount on Tickets Perfect for Wild Games
While Ticket King allows me to rant endlessly via my Ticket King College blog, I must occasionally spread the news of upcoming events and promotions Ticket King is offering. This one, I must say is pretty awesome and I am sure I will be taking advantage of it (perhaps when I purchase Christmas presents)!
If you are interested purchasing tickets for upcoming events, anything from the Minnesota Wild, Wolves and Vikings, to concerts like the Trans Siberian Orchestra, be sure to go to visit Ticket King because we are currently running a sweet promotion. Use the discount code STP at the check-out and receive 5% off of your entire order! Since we have no additional fees, this is a really awesome deal. You can use this code EVERY TIME INFINITELY! On a side note, I tried to get Kristy and Cortney to have a discount for an "Allison referral", but apparently I don't know that many people and the discount would have been useless. Eh... over it =).
If I may offer my expert-intern opinion, I would use this code (STP) on Minnesota Wild Hockey orders because we often have tickets for sale below face value (upwards of $10). What... a deal. Check it out: Ticket King!
