On October 6, 2012 the Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play eachother at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The two teams haven't played eachother since 1990 and renew a rivalry that was heated in the 1980's. Miami won 3 National Championships in the 1980's and defeated Notre Dame each time in the regular season when they won it. The two teams nearly fought in 1988 and 1989, leading to the diminish of the rivalry. Some college football fans dubbed the series, "The Catholics vs. The Convicts."
