This season in 2010-2011, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association will have a new look. Joining the 10 team conference is the Bemidji State University Beavers and the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Bemidji State made the Frozen Four during the 2008-2009 season and qualified for the NCAA tournament last season. It will make the conference more exciting and bring the total number of Minnesota teams to 5 in the WCHA. The teams in the WCHA voted on the expansion and approved of adding the 2 programs. The University of Minnesota will play Nebraska-Omaha on October 15 and 16 to start their WCHA season and Bemidji State on March 4 and 5 to finish it.
