Gopher vs Purdue – Hottest Game in Twin Cities

Hottest thing on TV tonight? Gophers Basketball vs. No. 3 ranked Purdue!!! I have parent teacher conferences so I will miss the official tip-off at 7:30pm (plus I had to pass up the chance to go the game tonight!), but I will be watching intently from the sofa as soon as I get home.

Ticket King had a few Gopher Purdue Tickets left this morning and sold all but 2 of them by 3pm today! College basketball fans in Minnesota are hyped up about this game (woot!). The Gophers basketball team has been playing extremely well at Williams Arena lately, but this will be the first time in a long time that the Gophers have hosted a top 5 ranked team. I hope the Gophers come out strong and sink some quick baskets and keep the fans in the game. My heart says the Gophers have the ability to beat Purdue, but my head says to simply hope that the Gophers keep the score close.

Go Gophers!

I will be wearing my maroon and gold and cheering my heart our (after parent teacher conferences). My favorite stat that I have been sharing with every one visiting the Ticket King office today: The Gophers have outscored opponents by an average of 20.8 points at Williams Arena - and don't you forget it!

Kansas Stays at No.1 – Big 12 basketball title clinched

I knew there was no way Oklahoma was going to upset Kansas last night and boy was I right. Kansas Jayhawks were on fire! At one point the Jayhawks had a 17-point lead in the first half and I think the final shooting percentage was 51 – that’s good stuff. You know what else amazes me? Xavier Henry is just a freshman – he rocks and he led all scorers with 23 points last night. Wish I could have been there in person to see it unfold, plus the ESPN announcers were getting annoying.

Oklahoma 68 (13-14, 4-9 Big 12)
1Kansas 81 (27-1, 13-0 Big 12)

Kansas clinches Big 12 Title. Congrats. Kansas Jayhawks will DEFINITELY be in my Final Four.

ESPN Game Alert: Oklahoma at No. Kansas Jayhawks TONIGHT

Does anyone think Oklahoma has the ability to upset No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks tonight? I don’t. Once again, I am wishing that I was at Allen Fieldhouse instead of at home on the couch watching ESPN. I know where I can get the game tickets (Ticket King!), now I just need to find a pilot to get me there in time.

Oklahoma (13-13, 4-8 Big 12) vs. Kansas (26-1, 12-0 Big 12)

College Basketball Score Update

Another great weekend in college basketball. There weren’t a lot of upsets this weekend with the usuals Kansas, Kansas State, Purdue, Texas and Tennessee all winning their games, but here are the scores that I think you should know about.

2 Kentucky 58 (26-1, 11-1 SEC)
19Vanderbilt 56 (20-6, 9-3 SEC)

HOLY DEFENSE – I could hardly believe the score – this is Division 1, right? Wish I could have been there – even though, I prefer a higher scoring game – I love the magic of the three.
________________________________________
22Baylor 75 (20-6, 7-5 Big 12)
Oklahoma St 82 (19-7, 7-5 Big 12)

It seems just when I get behind a team – I have been huge into Baylor this year – they take a nose dive. Oklahoma State is pretty good, but Baylor has been terrible lately.
________________________________________
25Wake Forest 54 (18-7, 8-5 ACC)
N Carolina St 68 (15-13, 3-10 ACC)

This is Saturday’s lone upset I would say and it’s a shockers. I would have never thought NC State Wolfpack could take out ACC rival Wake Forest, it must have been the luck of the Wolfpack home court and those loyal NC State fans.
________________________________________
3 Villanova 65 (22-4, 11-3 Big East)
21 Pittsburgh 70 (21-6, 10-4 Big East)

Finally Pitt looked like the team I thought they were! The Pitt Panthers started out strong this year and then sort of fell apart, they looked good on Sunday, I hope they can keep it up – I think they deserve to be higher than 21st in the standings.

Remember if you ever want to go to a live college basketball game instead of just reading about the games online you should call Ticket King or check out Ticket King Online.com for your ticket needs – we have CHEAP college basketball tickets and there is nothing better than seeing the game live . . . reading about games online doesn’t even come close to comparison – trust me, I know.

Top College Basketball Games plus Cheap Iowa State Tickets

ESPN rates the Colorado at No. 1 Kansas game as the hottest college basketball game today, but I have to say I am more excited to watch No. 2 Kentucky at No. 19 Vanderbilt. The Kentucky Vanderbilt game will help me more with my bracket methodology come March.

I am also looking forward to the Texas Aggies at Iowa State Cyclones match-up that tips off at 3pm. Ticket King has super cheap tickets to Hilton Coliseum in Ames. When I say cheap, I mean like less than $5. If you are an Iowa State Cyclones fan, Ticket King should be your favorite place to shop. We have cheap Iowa State tickets to all the big athletic events.

If you need Iowa State Cyclones vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers tickets for Wednesday, don’t pay the box office prices, buy guaranteed tickets from Ticket King at clearance prices! We hope to hear from some of you Iowa State fans soon!

Gophers Beat Badgers – What a Night – See the Gophers Do It Again

I don’t claim to be a college basketball expert, but I sort of predicted that the Gophers basketball team had the potential, should I dare say the ability, to beat the Wisconsin Badgers at the Barn on Thursday night. The Gophers overpowered the Badgers beating them 68-52. One of my friends went to the game and said the nose level was insane and the game was a ton of fun, well if you were a Gopher fan.

I could tell it was a sell-out from my couch and the crowd seemed extra loud even on TV. Blake Hoffarber was the star for the Gophers and it was awesome to see him sink three pointer after three pointer. Hoffarber led the Gopher team with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

If you missed the Gopher Badger game, do NOT miss another Gopher Basketball game. In fact, there is a game TONIGHT! Gophers vs. Indiana 7pm at Williams Arena. Ticket King still has tickets and I am sitting in the office RIGHT NOW waiting for you to call – Gopher tickets are $35, call us now at 612-341-4131 and reserve your seats for tonight’s action!

Big Ten Basketball Game Alert: Gophers Badgers

Gopher Badger BasketballAs a local Minnesotan, I live and breathe Gophers and if you love Big Ten basketball as much as I do, then you can’t wait for tonight’s Gophers Badgers game. If you were smart, you called Ticket King this morning and bought the last few Gopher Basketball Tickets – if you missed out, you will have to watch on TV (like me!) – Working at Ticket King has it’s perks, but Gopher Basketball Tickets against the Wisconsin Badgers isn’t one of them, you gotta pay retail for Gophers Badgers Tickets and that was not in the budget this month, good thing I can still afford cable because I would be freaking out if I couldn’t watch this game tonight.

Gopher Badger tip-off is a late 8pm at Williams Arena, perfect for people like me who are also totally addicted to Survivor.

Go Gophers – UPSET the Badgers!

ESPN Game Alert – Don’t miss No. 1 Kansas at No. 23 Texas Aggies

I can’t be in College Station, TX tonight so I will be glued to ESPN to see if the Kansas Jayhawks can remain undefeated in Big 12 conference play. This will be a tough game on the road at Reed Arena against the Texas Aggies. If you have Aggies Basketball Tickets to this game, consider yourself LUCKY! I would gladly trade places with you.

1 Kansas (24-1, 10-0 Big 12) vs.
23 Texas A&M (18-6, 7-3 Big 12)

College Basketball Score Updates Again

It was another great weekend to be a college basketball fan unless you were a Gopher Basketball fan (like me!) – what is wrong with them? Losing to Northwestern in overtime was absolutely pathetic.
Listing the scores of my favorite weekend games is quickly becoming my favorite Monday activity. If you missed the games or sports center highlights, here is what you need to know:

Iowa St 59 (13-12, 2-8 Big 12)
1 Kansas 73 (24-1, 10-0 Big 12)

Kansas cruises past Iowa State and they aren’t looking back!
_________________________________________
12 Tennessee 62 (18-6, 6-4 SEC)
2 Kentucky 73 (24-1, 9-1 SEC)

Kentucky is the real deal. Tennessee was tough, but the Wildcats were tougher.
_______________________________________
10Michigan St 65 (20-6, 10-3 Big Ten)
Penn St 54 (8-16, 0-12 Big Ten)

I think it’s time for Penn State to get a new coach. 0-12 in the Big Ten, really?!
_________________________________________
20Georgia Tech 64 (17-8, 5-6 ACC)
Wake Forest 75 (18-5, 8-3 ACC)

What is happening to Georgia Tech? They are in a definite slump.
_________________________________________
Missouri 62 (18-7, 6-4 Big 12)
Baylor 64 (19-5, 6-4 Big 12)

One of the super close games in the Big 12 this weekend – last second basket sealed the deal for Baylor.
________________________________________
Texas A&M 67 (18-6, 7-3 Big 12)
Texas Tech 65 (16-8, 4-6 Big 12)

Another close one.
_________________________________________
8Georgetown 68 (18-6, 8-5 Big East)
Rutgers 71 (13-12, 3-9 Big East)

Huge upset, but I personally think Gerogetown is a little overrated. They should be more like No. 15 than No. 8.

There are only a few games left before March Madness begins, but if feels like it is already March Madness in my heart. I LOVE COLLEGE BASKETBALL!

No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks vs Iowa State Cyclones

If you are following college basketball at all, then you know that the Kansas Jayhawks are amazing this season and are ranked number one. This Saturday, it will be the Kansas Jayhawks vs. Iowa State Cyclones. It should be an easy win for the Jayhawks as Iowa State has been in self-destruct mode this month. If I could pick any game to go to this season, I would pick a Kansas Jayhawks game. I want to see first hand what makes this team so good. Sure I have seen the Sports Center highlights, but that is not the same as watching a team live from start to finish. I am sure they have gotten some lucky breaks, but you don’t always get to see all that on Sports Center.

Kansas will for sure be in my final four bracket. March Madness is almost here!

Big 10 Basketball Games on Saturday

I love this time of year with all of the great college basketball games! This Saturday (2/13) there are some HOT Big 10 basketball games. Ticket King has college basketball tickets to all of these games!

No. 10 Michigan State Spartans travel to Penn State for an 11 a.m. tip-off.

No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers are hosting Indiana at the Kohl Center for a 1 p.m. tip-off. Ticket King has great affordable tickets and we can offer a cheap local pick-up in Madison as well!

No. 6 Purdue Boilermakers host Iowa Hawkeyes for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off. Be there Big Ten Basketball fans!

Gopher Basketball Game Alert

Since Ticket King is based out of Minnesota and I have lived here my whole life, I follow Gopher Basketball closer than any other basketball team and tonight the Gophers will be at Williams Arena to take on Michigan Wolverines at 7pm. Do you want to be there, too? Ticket King has great Gopher Basketball tickets even at the last minute. Michigan is on a 2 game losing streak so they will be hungry for a win, but the Gophers are hard to beat at home. Don’t believe me? See it for yourself. Game starts at 6pm.

GO GOPHERS!

College Basketball Score Updates

It was another great weekend to be a college basketball fan. If you missed the games or sports center highlights, here are my most noteworthy college basketball games and scores from Saturday:

24Baylor Bears 71 (17-5, 4-4 Big 12)
Texas Aggies 78 (17-6, 6-3 Big 12)
Aggies kept Baylor at bay and remain a strong Big 12 contender...well second to Kansas anyway.
________________________________________
Nebraska 64 (13-10, 1-7 Big 12)
1Kansas 75 (22-1, 8-0 Big 12)
There were a few predictable games this weekend,
including this one, Kansas just rolled over Nebraska.
_________________________________________
Alabama 67 (13-10, 3-6 SEC)
Mississippi 74 (17-6, 5-4 SEC)
Ole Miss comes away easy with this one.
_________________________________________
2Villanova 90 (20-2, 9-1 Big East)
8Georgetown 103 (17-5, 7-4 Big East)
I wouldn’t have predicted this, but you should never underestimate those Hoyas at home!
_________________________________________
10Texas 71 (19-4, 5-3 Big 12)
Oklahoma 80 (13-9, 4-4 Big 12)
Texas Longhorns basketball is close to self-destruction mode. Beware.
_________________________________________
5Michigan St 73 (19-5, 9-2 Big Ten)
Illinois 78 (16-8, 8-3 Big Ten)
Illinois upsets Michigan State Spartans, but really Illinois is HOT right now and at home, it was less of an upset than sports writers claim.

Baylor Bears Basketball Hot Right Now, Aggies Hope to Cool Them Down

The Baylor Bears basketball team will be at Reed Arena College Station on Saturday to take on the Texas A&M Aggies. The Baylor Bears Basketball team is hot right now, still relishing in that big overtime victory over the Texas Longhorns. The Aggies basketball team hopes to cool Baylor down and keep their spot ahead of the Bears in the Big 12 conference.

Baylor Aggies Tickets are a hot commodity and will cost you a little bit more, but don’t sit home on the sofa for this one, college basketball fans, buy Baylor Aggies Tickets from Ticket King and get ready for some scrappy college basketball. Both of these teams have great big guys in the center and they are ready to fight for the ball!

College Basketball Game Tickets: Iowa State Cyclones vs. Kansas State Wildcats

If you need something to do this Saturday, I guarantee Ticket King can find some tickets for you. It is college basketball season and we have college basketball game tickets to games across the country. If you are from the Midwest, then I would recommend the Kansas State Wildcats at the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday at 1pm. Hilton Coliseum Ames will be rockin’ as the Cyclones basketball team tries to defeat No. 11 ranked Kansas State. It will be a tough battle for the Cyclones, but with plenty of fan support to give them a true home court advantage, anything is possible in Ames.

Ticket King has Iowa State Cyclones tickets for $10 each! That’s a great deal so buy Cyclones tickets, wear your best red Iowa State shirt and be at Hilton Coliseum to see if the Cyclones basketball team has what it takes!

Purdue Basketball Sports Report – Big Rivalry Game against Indiana

“Grow up in Indiana and you learn quickly, it's Purdue or Indiana. Simple, you choose.”

One of my buddies knows I write a college basketball blog so he forwarded me an email he got from Purdue about tonight’s Purdue Indiana basketball game. It’s got some solid insight on the game tonight so I thought I would repost portions of it. Besides if my buddy took the time to send me the info and a note that says I should dedicate more space to Purdue Boilermakers Basketball, I figure I owe him at least this much:

Official Sports Report: February 04, 2010 Back to Bloomington
Boilers back in hostile territory for first time in two years by Rob Blackman, Managing Editor

Here are my favorite parts of the article:

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The team bus rolled out yesterday afternoon, headed south-bound. The Boilermakers are already there in enemy territory. Last night's practice at an empty Assembly Hall was peaceful enough. Tonight, it will be anything but peaceful.
For the first time since 2008, the Purdue Boilermakers play their fiercest rival, the Indiana Hoosiers, in Bloomington. Only those who are juniors or seniors on the Purdue roster have ever played a game in Bloomington. None of them have ever won there. In fact, Purdue has lost eight straight at the Assembly Hall.

Last year, because of the Big Ten's unbalanced scheduling, Purdue and I-U met only once, at Mackey Arena. A game in which the Boilermakers won, 81-67.

Indiana is without question still a young team. No other team in the Big Ten relies as heavily on their freshmen as the Hoosiers. Indiana does not have a single player who has been on the team for four years. The Hoosiers do have one thing going for them, though. They have seven players from the state of Indiana. Grow up in Indiana and you learn quickly, it's Purdue or Indiana. Simple, you choose. The Purdue roster has 13 Indiana natives or those who played high school basketball in the Hoosier state.

************************************************

Every college basketball fan LOVES a great in-state rivalry game like this one. Guess who will be watching ESPN tonight at 7pm? ME. And I will be cheering for the Boilermakers.

College Hockey Badger Hockey Classic: Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan Wolverines

This will be my first post about college hockey! Right now my brain is in total college basketball mode, but it came across my desk that this weekend is the Badger Hockey Classic also titled Culver's Camp Randall Hockey Classic.

The University of Wisconsin Badgers hockey team will host the Michigan Wolverines Saturday February 6th at 5pm at Camp Randall Stadium. That’s right, OUTDOORS at Camp Randall Madison!

"The University of Wisconsin has one of the most famous football stadiums in college athletics and one of the most storied men's and women's hockey programs, as well," said Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez. "That makes a perfect match for this kind of event and so we are delighted to be able to bring outdoor hockey to Madison."

How cool is that? Outdoor hockey in Madison. I can’t wait to see something like that on this side of the Mississippi. I am hoping for an outdoor hockey event at TCF Bank Stadium – whether it’s the New Years Day NHL event or even a Gopher hockey event, I think special games like this Badger Hockey Classic are cool and I would LOVE to be in the stands of Camp Randall this Saturday. Ticket King does have great Badgers Tickets so check us out and make plans to attend a game soon!

Be at Friel Court Pullman by 7pm to see this great game, with ticket prices so low you have no excuse not to go. Calling all Washington State basketball fans, show up and support your team!

I would love to go, but airfare just isn’t in the budget this week so I will be on the couch watching No.19 Georgia Tech (16-5, 4-3 ACC) play No. 9 Duke (17-4, 5-2 ACC), I am pretty sure that Duke Basketball will rock the house, but you never know, Georgia Tech is hungry for an upset and that is why I love college basketball!
