Joe Mauer Upset over Injection Revelation

Gardy talked about the injections that Mauer has gotten in his knee and the $23 million man wasn't happy about it.

I am very happy the Twins re-signed Joe Mauer. I think the Pohlads have really picked up on the whole, 'you need to spend money to make money' thing. But I do think Mauer needs to relax. He is worth $23 a year. People are going to want to know what is going on in his life; they want to see a return on investment.

Joe MauerWhile I can appreciate privacy, Mauer is a hot topic and that privacy isn't going to always be achieved. He is lucky that he is as relatively boring as he is anyway - he never reveals anything about himself to the press so he can't be surprised when something like this gets out that people go crazy. Its the law of... craziness.

Mauer is the face of the franchise and needs to accept the unfortunate fact that there will be people with unrealistically high expectation about his average, games played, position played, and public relations. It is just the way it is; we have a right to expect a lot from Mauer for $23 million per year. And Mauer needs to accept that some of our expectations will be unreasonable and all come with the gig.

CC Sabathia Lost 25 LBS

CC SabathiaCC Sabathia lost 25 Lbs during the offseason. He has stated that his stamina is much better and that he isn't getting tired anymore. Looks like there is going to be less of him to beat this year.

Here is where I talk about how great the Yankees are going to be this year.

Here is where I feel bad that Russell Martin replaced Posada. Poor guy.

I should say something about Derek Jeter and A Rod because they are completely amazing.

I will never give up on the Twins. I love them. We are going to beat those guys this year and I am going to be there to see it... no matter how much I have to pay for a ticket. I am so sick of hearing about the Yankees. Let's start talking about teams that actually have morals.

In other news, Miguel Cabrera is still wasted.

Sharing my Spring Break with the Minnesota Twins?

I've been up and down about my travel plans for Spring Break. I'm trying to best manage my finances and my fun. The practical side of me (which is probably more than 50%) is suggesting I just stay home, pick up extra shifts at Ticket King and catch up on sleep... while working ahead in homework.

The side that wants to party really, really wants to pack up the one bag that flies free and head on down to Ft. Myers to see my Minnesota Twins play the Boston Red Sox during spring training.

Hammond Field, Ft. Myers
I'm torn. I love the Twins so much. Not to mention I am still reeling from all the season tickets being sold out after finally convincing my Mom to buy them for me. It has been a rough pre-season for me. Basically, I need my Twins fix and I need it now. Like any good addict, the practical side rarely wins out.

Thanks for listening, I'll see you at Ft. Myers.

Probably. Well... I'll let you know.

Miguel Cabrera Loves His Scotch

Miguel CabreraWell... Miguel Cabrera is giving Charlie Sheen a run for his intoxicated money.

Miguel Cabrera was arrested late Wednesday on suspicion of drunk driving in Fort Pierce, which is about 110 miles southeast of where the Tigers hold spring training. Allegedly during his arrest, Miguel took a large swig from his BOTTLE of Scotch... right in front of that Po-Po. What... a stud.

Another big shocker was that he wasn't at camp today. No kidding. Have you ever drank straight scotch all night and made any obligation you planned for the next 24 hours? Doubt it. Apparently Cabrera is very embarrassed... and I must go so far as to say he is very hungover as well.

Lucky for Mr. Michael (Miguel in English =) ), Jim Leyland has his back. Leyland said that Miguel's events would not affect the team whatsoever and that he knows "for a fact" that Cabrera is in the best shape of his life. It is debatable as to how much the words of Leyland are worth though- he is delusional: the Tigers plan to win the AL Central title.

Umm... Remember those Minnesota Twins? They are planning on it as well. See you at the finish line. Lucky for us... we can easily walk that line while simultaneously holding your finger to your nose. Man... hate those sobriety tests.

Minnesota Twins Sign Delmon Young, Pitchers and Catchers Report to Ft. Myers

The Minnesota Twins avoided arbitration by coming to an agreement with Delmon Young for a one-year, $5.375 million contract.

Young batted .298 with 46 doubles, one triple, 21 home runs and 112 RBIs in 153 games played for the Minnesota Twins in 2010. Young led the Twins in hits, doubles and RBIs. With 46 doubles last season, he tied for second-highest single-season total in Twins history.

Joe NathanWith Young signed on for another year, pitchers and catchers can head in to Spring Training knowing there is a strong infield waiting to support them!

The Minnesota Twins went through their first workout today at the team's spring training complex in Fort Myers, Florida. Joe Mauer worked with several pitchers including Joe Nathan, Kevin Slowey, and Anthony Slama during their first day.

Joe Nathan looked good throwing from the mound. Pitching coach Rick Anderson commented that he has never seen Nathan in such a relaxing and loose form.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL BASEBALL SEASON!!!!

Counterfeit Tickets Not Available from Ticket King

Recently, several individuals have attempted to take advantage of loyal Minnesota Wild fans by selling them counterfeit tickets to the games they love the most. Andy Pettitte Retires

One Yankee down, 3 more to go before we can finally put the 1996-2000 seasons out of memory. Andy Pettitte confirmed his retirement, leaving only Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, and Jorge Posada the remaining members of the Yankees teams that won four championships in five seasons between 96-00.

Pettitte said his heart just wasn't in it. I'll tell you why. Diminishing Marginal Utility. In economics, diminishing marginal utility states that as a person increases consumption of a product, there is a decline in the marginal utility (happiness) that person derives from consuming each additional unit of that product. Apply that to Andy Pettitte: As Andy increased the amount of Championships won, there was a decline in the happiness he received from winning each additional Championship until the idea of winning another Championship promoted little to no happiness in light of the effort he would have to put forth to earn one. While this is just a theory, can I say, "must be rough."

While, from what I read, I can see that Andy Pettitte is a pretty classy guy, he is still a Yankee to me. You know how that saying goes... Minnesota bias. Or... is it Minnesota nice?

Andy Pettitte

Another one bites the dust.
